Pelosi finally gave up the ghost after a last ditch closed door negotiation session with House democrats. I guess all the arms that could be twisted have been twisted:
"In its present form without any changes I don't think it's possible to pass the Senate bill in the House," Pelosi said, adding, "I don't see the votes for it at this time."
Don't worry, though, they are still scheming to try to pass something. Anything. But the Senate bill as it stands is dead.
Thank you, Scott Brown. Thank you, People of Massachusetts. I, for one, am eternally grateful.
